Found comet Hartley. Usual underwhelming fuzzy blob.
to spot with binoculars due to bright moon, and it being lower to the
horizon than if I got up early. In the telescope it was more
impressive - at 156x magnification it looked like a fuzzy galaxy with
a barely distinct core. What was most impressive was how quickley it
moved with respect to the stars. After an hour it had crossed perhaps
1/4 the field of view, so about 6 arcminutes/hour.
